Imagery for the elegant couple

They stood on the steps. The columns of the old Historic Post Office reaching up behind them. Their closest friends grouped around them. Green. Navy Blue. Tears. Wild whoops. These two were now husband and wife. Graham reaches for Shannon’s hand as he takes his bride in. She is beautiful. She is his. Surrounded by those who have seen them through all seasons of life, they laugh, they remember, and they celebrate. Bridesmaids pull them in for hugs, wiping tears of joy, fully unable to hold back smiles. Groomsmen clap Graham and the shoulder and cheer loudly as he leans down to kiss his bride. Brushing her hair from her cheek, Graham whispers in Shannon’s ear. She quietly giggles and snuggles closer to her husband. How long she has dreamed of, prayed over, and prepared for this day. And now, at last, she is his wife, his beloved. And she smiles because she knows this creeping joy so well.

Shannon and Graham, thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for giving me the honor of spending your last morning of engagement and your first hours of marriage alongside you. Your joy is infectious. People are drawn to your gentle love and blessed by your sweet, sweet desire to serve. You have a relationship brimming with beauty and overflowing with humility. From the moment we first shared coffee, sitting around the beautiful farm table in Virginia, I’ve looked forward to your wedding, knowing it was going to be exceptionally beautiful because of who you two are and who you surround yourself with. And Shannon and Graham, this day was so special. So beautiful. And so worth celebrating.

I wish you nothing but the greatest joy as you begin this new adventure. Together. As husband and wife. You both have become so dear to me and I, along with all those who know you, are endlessly blessed by who you are. Cheers to many more years of overflowing joy, selfless giving, and days spent surrounded by those who love you most!
