Andrew & Rachel | North Carolina Winter Wedding

We are so excited to ring in this Christmas Eve with sharing a North Carolina winter wedding that is extra special to us. Earlier this year, we had the joy of photographing our bride’s sister’s wedding. You can imagine the sweetness of getting to photograph two family weddings within a year – our hearts were full enough to burst all day long.

Rachel and Andrew were in Kindergarten when they first met. They became fast friends and remained friends all the way through high school – even going to both proms together. When Rachel and Andrew were first telling us their story earlier this Spring, Andrew was quick to jump in that he was definitely hoping for more than just friends at this point. But it wasn’t until they went off to rival colleges that their story began to bloom. Andrew invited Rachel to the NC State Fair and they began dating shortly after. Their wedding was brimming with these stories – of his sweet waiting and how quickly and completely she fell for her best friend.

As the sun fully slipped behind the trees and the Christmas tree twinkled next to them, Rachel and Andrew sat, his hand draped across his back. Leaning into each other, they laughed and nodded as their siblings gave toasts, sharing about their love story. The thing that struck us most about the words shared is the kindness and welcoming love you cannot escape when with Andrew and Rachel. Their love is sweet and so selfless. It comes from years of being best friends to now being husband and wife.
